Trumpet WIP 02 10/14/2011
I don't have as much time to work on 3D as I want to, mostly beacouse of my job. But when I have some time to spare I get to do some work, so now I've added the "finger hooks," and the next thing to add is the valve to empty out the different pipes. Add Comment Trumpet 10/13/2011
I decided to put the livingroom project on hold for a while and i started on a trumpet:) Still Work In Progress Livingroom update 10/13/2011
Livingroom 09/08/2011
Currently I'm working on a living room. I'll try to keep my blog up tp date, and write about my progress:) Anyways, here are some pictures to show where I am at the moment;) CGI+Real Photo=??? 09/07/2011
For a long time I've been wanting to test out how to implement 3D objects into real photos and vice versa. So finally I stubled over a forum thread talking about matt/shadow material in Vray, so I figgured I'd give it a shot:) So this is my first attempt to blend CGI with a photo, and I have to say that I'm pretty please with the result:) What has happend since the lastg post? 09/07/2011
Well first of all, schools over! I'm currently still working at Rimi:P I'm also working on some 3D stuff, that hopefully will get me a job in the industri :) So yeah, school's over, but I've decided to keep posting mye work here;) Observational Drawings 06/16/2011
Here are this semesters observational drawings. This were the last assignment at the Noroff Insitute. Nominated for Diamond Awards! 06/16/2011
Diamond Awards is basically just a show by Noroff displaying student projects and giving out some rewards. And I think it's going to be really enjoyable:) DONE! 06/16/2011
I'm very happy with the end result :D We were very stressed at the end but we managed to finish in time :) Oblig 12 - My Own Performance 06/06/2011
I think I performed my best during the most of the project. I had quite a bit on my mind during the project since I moved out from my parents at the same time, but I think I did a good job with combining school time with free time. Of course there were a couple of times where I just wanted to give up the whole movie, but then I pulled myself together and worked as hard as I could. And I don’t think my short moments of frustration have affected the production negatively. My first responsibilities, after we had made the treatment together, were to make the animatic. I think the animatic looks pretty good, and I think the group are happy with how it looks. The next thing I had to do were to make props and scene-assets like ticket machines and other stuff you would find in a subway station. I also made the posters in the movie. On this task I worked very well because this is what I like the most to work with, hard surface modeling. Then I had to create generic people, at first I planned to create a lot of different people, and I started by modeling a female, but when she were almost done I changed my mind and decided to only make one man and just change colors on his clothes, and I think this makes it a lot easier to keep the audience’s attention at the main character. Then I rigged him with CAT and I think this to went very well. After the modeling I had to animate the scene were the main character gets run over and gets very angry. I started to work with the crowd system in 3DS max, but struggled a lot to make it work, and when I in the end got it to look pretty ok I decided to drop it and just animate the crowd to walk on different paths. So I wasted a lot of time here and then I had little time to animate the main character, but after a lot of late nights I think it started to look pretty good, but in the end Øyvind made some changes to my animation to make it look better. And I had Ole Kristian help me with the special effects. The next responsibility I had were to make a DVD-cover. I think I performed very well at this point, and that the cover looks very good. I also put in a little extra effort and made a DVD-label and an autorun icon. Then I made the credits which is really simple so there isn’t too much to say about it. I also did some voice acting with Øyvind, and I recorded some of the sounds. I think I have worked pretty well in the group, and that I have communicated very good with the other members, so everyone knew what the others were doing. I worked very hard on this project and there were a lot of late nights and early mornings, so it will be nice to get it done and go out and celebrate a well accomplished goal. My routines isn’t very special, I just worked from I wake up until I got to bed, of course I took a few breaks to go outside and get fresh air. I struggle to remember any times that I were unhappy with the project, but I know that I were very upset when my computer at home just crashed when I tried to work with our heavy scenes. So I had to spend 8000NOK to get new parts and rebuild my computer. So when it were done I loved to work again, everything went very smooth. Another time I can say that I was unhappy with the project have to be when I struggled with a bug in the CAT system. Every time I tried to open up the motion panel max closed, and after a lot of searching I foun a work around. I had to do the CAT motion in 3DS max 32bit instead of 64 bit. The times I were most happily producing has to be in the beginning, just because I were exited to make a movie. I were also very happy when I could make the DVD-cover and DVD-label, since I had been working with 3DS Max for a long time it was a relief to do something completely else. The next time I’m going to make an animation film I would like to have the same attitude as this time, which just were to go for it, and do my best do make something I can be proud of. But I would like to be a better animator and texture artist before I start working on a new film. I have learned that communication is very important and that it is necessary to have deadlines and follow them, and have personal goals. It’s important to keep your sence of humor, also when thing seems to go the wrong way. | Christoffer Pedersen
